Odom's 'wild summer of drugs'

Lamar Odom

Lamar Odom spent up to $1,000 on drugs a day, it has been claimed.

The basketball player has been plagued by drug rumours over the last few weeks, with claims he is either addicted to crack cocaine or Oxycontin and Ambien.

His marriage to Khloé Kardashian is also thought to be in crisis following rumours he was unfaithful. It was known Lamar spent time in a hotel earlier this year - said to be where one of his alleged affairs took place - and it is claimed this is where his addiction really took hold.

"Lamar Odom fell deep into the world of hardcore drugs during a wild summer in Hollywood... where he spent as much as $1,000 in a single day to fuel his growing addiction to crack - according to sources familiar with the situation," reports TMZ.

Lamar began staying at the Roosevelt Hotel in May, which was after the basketball season ended. The website alleges around seven or eight people would randomly turn up and stay in the room, often arriving at strange hours.

The sportsman apparently spent between $800 and $1,000 a day on various drugs, buying them for other people too.

It has been claimed that Lamar checked into rehab for three weeks last year on Khloé's insistence. He then cleaned himself up and got through the basketball season, with Khloé keeping his addiction issues a secret from her family.

When things allegedly got out of control over the last few months she apparently opened up to her loved ones. It's been claimed the couple are currently separated after Khloé told Lamar he couldn't come back to their marital home until he'd received professional treatment.

This week People claimed the 33-year-old star had checked into rehab for help with drug and alcohol addiction. However, it has since been alleged this was not the case by other outlets, with People now claiming Lamar left the facility after a day.

The basketball star was arrested under suspicion of DUI last week and allegedly refused chemical testing.
