O’Donnell’s ‘seven-figure View deal’
Rosie O’Donnell has supposedly been offered a contract worth over one million dollars to return to American talk show The View.
The 52-year-old comedian served as a moderator on the popular American daytime talk show from 2006 to 2007, and TMZ reported Monday she is considering returning after Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd left.
According to Page Six, Rosie is has been offered a “one-year, seven-figure deal” and negotiations are now in the closing process.
But apparently the funnywoman has refused to come back unless executives agree not to add any reality stars to the talk show interview schedule. Rosie also supposedly wants a say in who will be her co-hosts.
Whoopi Goldberg is returning to the programme as well and will allegedly anchor the show with Rosie full-time.
When Rosie was part of the show during its tenth season, her presence boosted ratings tremendously. She decided to leave The View because her contract expired and new terms weren’t agreed upon, but the star has been a guest correspondent since departing in 2007.
It was revealed a few weeks ago Jenny would no longer be a part of the programme.
And in a recent interview with New You magazine, she revealed how much of a shock it was to hear the news.
"Believe it or not, I think I'm still on The View," the former Playboy model said. "I love the show. I'm doing so much work to improve myself — signing up for critical thinking courses and doing all my media training. I want to be at the top of my game, and when I'm 60 I want to still have a face that moves. I want to have beautiful, healthy grandkids and still have [fiancé] Donnie [Wahlberg] be the hunky love of my life."
