O'Grady won't do Lily Savage again

Paul O'Grady is bringing back Lily Savage for panto - but not for TV

Paul O'Grady has said he won't bring back Lily Savage to the small screen - because high definition will show up all the wrinkles.

The presenter, who has released the latest volume of his memoirs, Still Standing, is dusting off the heels to bring Lily back in panto this Christmas, as Widow Twankey in Aladdin at the O2.

But he said that this will be the last time.

"I'm 57, I feel I'm 207. I look in the mirror and I think, 'That's not a wrinkle, it's a gutter across my face!' Lily Savage will never do telly again. Not with HD," he admitted.

:: Still Standing, The Savage Years, by Paul O'Grady, is published by Bantam, priced £20. Available now.

Gemini:

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
