O'Leary: I want Lily Allen as judge
Lily Allen should be a judge on The X Factor, Dermot O'Leary has said.
The show's host reckons the straight-talking singer would be a great addition to the panel, where she could rate and slate wannabes with her fellow judges.
"I still hope Simon and Cheryl will be there but I'd love Lily Allen to do it," he said on the red carpet at the Jameson Empire Awards in London.
Dermot insisted he had no inside knowledge on the show, adding: "I wish I knew, I have no idea. They've got to book someone soon otherwise I'll just do it."
The 37-year-old - who presented the Four Lions cast and crew with their gong for best comedy - said the show is a "secret shame" for many celebs.
"Loads of bands come on my BBC Radio 2 show and they say they don't watch it, but at the end of the interview, they tell you about how they really like Cher," he revealed.
Fans can look forward to the next series, because auditions have been "wonderful".
"They're good. I don't really see any of the big auditions but you do get to see a fair few characters coming through the door," Dermot said.
"We had our biggest crowds ever in Manchester. Loads of girl bands this year."
