O'Leary: I'm bossy in the kitchen

Dermot O'Leary has revealed he can be too domineering in the kitchen.

The TV presenter, who owns two seafood restaurants, admitted his love for cooking can drive TV producer girlfriend Dee Koppang up the wall.

"Well, one of my annoying habits is that Dee thinks I'm too bossy in the kitchen - but I'm working on it," he said.

"I mean, we made a mean guacamole together the other day."

Dermot will be swapping X Factor pop for squabbles when he hosts ITV's new comedy panel series The Marriage Ref.

"It's a light-hearted studio-based entertainment show but with couples discussing the squabbles within their relationship," he said.

"I think viewers will find it funny, and will find themselves relating to the arguments. I mean we can all identify with that feeling where you meet someone and fall in love. You have six months of being absolutely loved up and then, although still in love, you start to work out each other's idiosyncrasies. That's the beauty of relationships though."

Over the course of seven weeks, arguing partners will be given the chance to put across their side of a dispute in front of a panel of celebrities that includes the likes of Jonathan Ross, James Corden and Alan Carr, along with a live audience.

"I'll encourage the panel to keep it warm and friendly but... fat chance. And I'll definitely try to remain impartial, but I can't promise anything," teased Dermot.

:: The Marriage Ref begins on June 18 on ITV1.
