O'Leary: We're too busy for kids

Dermot O'Leary has revealed he would love to become a father - but he and wife Dee Koppang have been too busy with work.

The X Factor host - who married his long-time girlfriend Dee, a TV producer, in September 2012 - admitted their careers sometimes take priority over their personal lives.

He told The Sun's Fabulous magazine: "I definitely want kids, but I've got a very busy wife with a very busy life. It's not fair for me to say: 'I want kids now.'

"I do want kids with my wife, but I want them when we both think it's the right thing to happen," he added.

Dermot has fronted The X Factor since 2007 and continues to present a show on BBC Radio 2. The 41-year-old entertainer will host the 2015 National Television Awards on January 21.

He also admitted that the couple were unable to spend their second wedding anniversary together.

"Circumstance and life takes over and, before you know it, you haven't seen each other properly for a week or two," he explained, adding that he skipped the official wrap party for the ITV talent show to spend time with Dee.
