Olivier nominees take centre stage
James McAvoy and Billie Piper are among the theatre stars who have shared a stage as nominees for this year's Olivier Awards gathered to celebrate their inclusion on the shortlist.
The acting luminaries together with technical wizards who are in the running for prizes teamed up at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London ahead of the ceremony, which takes place later this month.
The nominees were announced in March with James shortlisted for best actor for his role in Macbeth.
He goes up against Rafe Spall for his performance in Constellations and Luke Treadaway, star of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, both of whom also attended.
Billie is up for best actress for her role in The Effect.
Also at the gathering was Leigh Zimmerman, from A Chorus Line, who is among the hopefuls in the best performance in a supporting role in a musical category.
The ceremony - officially called the Olivier Awards 2013 with MasterCard - will take place at the Royal Opera House on Sunday April 28, hosted by Sheridan Smith and Hugh Bonneville.
