Overstreet asks out Bullock
Chord Overstreet was “too scared” to speak to his celebrity crush Sandra Bullock when they attended a red carpet event.
The Glee hunk appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show on Monday, where he was quizzed about his love life. Chord is currently single and confessed he has a soft spot for Gravity actress Sandra.
“I do have a celebrity crush right now,” he revealed. “I am looking for Mrs Wonderful. It's tough with all the, you know, ins and outs of relationships that are always going on, but I would have to say the most current one is Sandra Bullock.”
Chord then went on to admit he has never come face to face with the object of his affections. The pair did attend the same showbiz event once, but the 24-year-old actor was too overwhelmed to introduce himself.
“I've actually never met her,” Chord said. “I saw her. I saw her from a distance at one of these red carpet things, and I was a little... a little bit, like, too scared to talk to her. She was that beautiful.”
Ellen then convinced Chord to make a public appeal to 49-year-old Sandra.
“Sandra, would you go out with me?” he said, looking straight into the camera as the audience cheered. “Oh, it would be amazing if you could just respond right now so I'm not left waiting.”
Sandra recently revealed she would love to find romance, but she is perfectly happy juggling her work commitments with raising her three-year-old adopted son Louis.
Chord also spoke about how the cast of Glee have been coping since the death of Cory Monteith.
Cory passed away in July from heroin and alcohol toxicity, aged just 31. Chord says his co-stars still miss him a great deal.
“It's been difficult so far,” he explained. “We've all kind of grouped together and really kind of gotten a lot closer because we've all been going through the same thing. I mean, [Cory's] role on the show... he was the heart of the show.”
