Overstreet: I’ll babysit Naya’s kid
Chord Overstreet says he would be the perfect babysitter for Glee co-star Naya Rivera’s child, because he “loves babies”.
The 26-year-old actor’s long-term job on hit US TV show Glee will be coming to an end when the programme shoots its final scenes this Friday.
But Chord insists he has no intention of losing contact with his co-stars, and even has plans to help pregnant Naya out where he can.
"I will offer to babysit once it happens, because I love babies,” Chord told E! News.
"I grew up with four sisters, so I feel like I got a crash course in parenting! I was always babysitting all my younger siblings, so I know that [Naya] is in for a wild, fun, amazing time. It'll be exciting and interesting and I'm sure at times she's going to be begging for somebody to take the kids off her hands."
Naya announced she was pregnant in February, shortly after she married actor Ryan Dorsey.
And the 28-year-old’s desire to start a family was no secret among the Glee family.
"I had always known she wanted a baby and was looking forward to that, so I'm really happy for her, and I think she's going to be a great mom,” Mark Salling, who plays Puck in Glee, said.
Meanwhile, in Glee, Chord has been involved in a romantic storyline with co-star Lea Michele for the past season.
And Chord says he jumped at the chance to get up close and personal with Lea.
"I had heard that Lea was a good kisser, but she really turned it on on camera!" Chord said. "I always love working with Lea because she's such a pro and she's so good and she's been doing that character for six years. So when we would do scenes, it was just boom, boom, boom, quick, quick, quick and fun, you know? It was just a blast. She's always easy and the chemistry is always easy with her, and it was fun. It just was unfortunate that it was more towards the end of the series, because we didn't get to do as much of it."
