Paltrow thanks fans for support

Gwyneth Paltrow has thanked fans for their support following her split from Chris Martin

Gwyneth Paltrow has thanked fans for their support following her announcement that she and husband Chris Martin are separating.

The actress took to Goop and her lifestyle site's weekly email to offer thanks to supporters standing by her and her "consciously uncoupled" husband.

The thanks came in the form of a post script below her usual introduction, followed by a recipe for cooking chicken three ways.

Gwyneth wrote: "P.S. CM and I in deep gratitude for the support of so many," and added a little heart at the end.

The 41-year-old actress announced their split on Goop, avoiding the word 'divorce' and attracting criticism for using the New Age term "conscious uncoupling" instead.

Gwyneth and the frontman for Coldplay married in 2003 and have two children.
