Hayden Panettiere says her new role in Nashville is very different from Claire Bennet in Heroes

Hayden Panettiere has said she was keen to find a very different role from her alter-ego in Heroes.

The actress shot to fame as cheerleader Claire Bennet in the BBC Two supernatural hit show.

She has recently starred as country singer Juliette Barnes in More4 drama Nashville.

"I really was eager to break out of that stereotype. I knew playing that role [Claire], the all-American cheerleader, was going to pigeonhole me a bit," she said.

"People were always going to see me as a specific type and it took a long time for me to break that mould. This character on Nashville has really helped me do that."

The star has signed a seven-year contract with Nashville, for which she received a Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe nomination earlier this year.

But she said she still has deep affection for Heroes, which ended in 2010.

"I love Heroes, and if they decided to do a movie in the future, then maybe... But I haven't heard anything about it," she said.

Gemini:

Someone will break a promise to you, which is disappointing. Don't let this setback stop you from crossing the finish line. You may have to submit an entry late or attend the last few minutes of a meeting, but take heart. Rallying in the midst of difficult circumstances will count in your favour. Someone else may get a job or scholarship, but you'll be in the running for the next opportunity. In the meantime, have an alternative plan ready when relying on others for help.More
