American socialite and businesswoman Paris Hilton dazzled in the gloom as she attended a London awards show tonight.

The reality television star, heiress, singer and celebrity perfumer braved torrential rain to join a host of British stars at the Fragrance Foundation Awards at The Brewery Hotel.

X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson, actor Richard E Grant, Nancy Dell' Olio and newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky were among those at the fragrance industry's marquee event.

Hilton braved the downpour to steal the show on the red carpet in a revealing, figure-hugging black dress, accessorised with a glittering Union Jack-styled clutch.

The 34-year-old is in the UK to promote her Limited Anniversary Edition fragrance - her 18th perfume in a ten-year career - and her new dance single, High Off My Love, and came to London after appearing in Liverpool yesterday.

She said: "I love what I do, I love being a businesswoman, I love travelling the world for my brands and it is something that really fulfils me in life. I love it, I'm very blessed."

Hilton has been in the spotlight since the early naughties, when she starred in reality shows including The Simple Life, with Nicole Richie.

And she had advice for any young stars looking to follow in her hard-business footsteps.

"It is all about believing in yourself, working hard, and being confident and having all the right partners in all of your businesses," she added.
