Pastor didn't recognise Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole married secretly on the Caribbean island of Mustique

Cheryl Cole's wedding pastor has admitted he had no idea who she was.

Devon R Ollivierre officiated as the X Factor judge married French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini on the Caribbean island of Mustique, but has now confessed that he didn't realise she was a celebrity.

He told the Daily Mirror: "They seemed very in love, the atmosphere was incredibly captivating - even if I didn't know who she was."

The religious leader said Cheryl - who had only been dating Jean-Bernard for three months before they tied the knot - wore a white gown for the romantic 30-minute ceremony, while her groom donned black trousers and a white shirt.

He continued: "It was like a church ceremony on the beach. They seemed very in love the way they were reacting in front of me. The vows were short and at the end of the ceremony they kissed, there was a lot of passion.

"After the wedding, Cheryl said she had a great time. But there was no singing. I came to understand she was a singer but I didn't know who she was.

"She told me she just wanted something modest."

Cheryl's famous friends have been rushing to congratulate her after she announced that she and Jean-Bernard had secretly married earlier this month.

Her fellow X Factor panellist Simon Cowell admitted on Twitter that he had been in the dark about his co-star's wedding plans.

He tweeted: "I still can't believe my lil buddy Cheryl got married. Had no idea. He is a great guy. Am very happy for them."

Cheryl's former Girls Aloud bandmate Nadine Coyle also sent her congratulations, and joked that the 31-year-old should get on with starting a family.

"Aww @CherylOfficial you must be having an amazing time. I am so happy for you! Good luck with everything. Come join the baby club. Best ever," tweeted Nadine, who welcomed daughter Anaiya in February.

Don't get involved with a hidden intrigue. The drama will be exciting at first, but eventually you will tire of keeping secrets. If someone is interested in you romantically, you shouldn't have to sneak around together. An oppressive work situation may tempt you to quit your job. Try not to discuss your plans with colleagues. You don't want a rival to tell your employer about your resignation until you're ready to tender it. Protect your interests at all costs.More
