Paul Young and Soul II Soul double bill at Feile evokes nostalgia for the '80s

There was a distinctly Eighties vibe in Falls Park last night as Paul Young and Soul II Soul performed in a double bill of crackin' live music.

The sound was a little muffled in the huge festival marquee but the appreciative feile audience of 30, 40 and 50-somethings went wild when chart topping singer Paul Young kicked off with Love Will Tear Us Apart.

He was in good voice for new material and classic tracks such as Every Time You Go Away, Senza Una Donna, Love of The Common People, and Wherever I Lay my Hat (That's my Home), as was the audience.

The crowd were warmed up nicely and dancing in the mud for Soul II Soul as Jazzie B and Caron Wheeler took to the stage for some truly old skool entertainment.

The Grammy-winning band, formed in London, gave west Belfast the best of their back catalogue.

Back to Life? It was as though they'd never gone away.
