Peep Show set to end, says TV boss

Peep Show is set to have its final outing, Channel 4's head of comedy has confirmed.

A ninth series of the hit TV show - starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb - has already been commissioned.

But Phil Clarke told Chortle that he is in discussions with creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong about the show's conclusion.

"We're talking about Peep Show, how that's going to be rounded off," he said. "The discussion is about how it's going to conclude."

Peep Show made its debut in 2003, starring Olivia Colman alongside David and Robert Webb as two dysfunctional flatmates whose inner thoughts are revealed.

Writers Sam and Jesse have since gone on to write Channel 4 sitcom Fresh Meat.
