Perry offers friend Becks a cameo

Matthew Perry apparently asked David Beckham to appear on his show

Matthew Perry has apparently signed up David Beckham to make a cameo in his new TV comedy Go On.

The Friends star plays widowed sportscaster Ryan King in the show, and he has chosen the LA Galaxy player as one of a number of real life sports personalities to appear in the series.

Matthew told WENN: "We've talked to David Beckham and he said that he would do it, so that was very exciting.

"We have asked (ice hockey star) Wayne Gretzky - I'd love to have him on the show at some point.

"My favourite athlete of all time is (tennis champion) Jimmy Connors, so, I guess my hope is that we get Jimmy Connors to come back and work with me again, which would be a dream come true."

Connors played himself in Matthew's last TV sitcom, Mr Sunshine.

NBC series Go O is due to start on US TV next year.
