Peter Facinelli and new girlfriend 'bonded'

Peter Facinelli and Jaimie Alexander

Peter Facinelli's new girlfriend Jaimie Alexander confesses that her new relationship with the actor is "scary".

The Twilight actor and his estranged wife Jennie Garth split in March after being married for 11 years.

Jaimie and Peter went public with their romance earlier this month.

Jaimie feels a bit pressured at the moment, but overall she is enjoying her and Peter's partnership.

"It's very new to me and it's scary," she told People magazine.

"But it's also something we don't want to give up on because I know how it makes me feel in my heart. It makes me feel really good. He's a good guy with a great family and I couldn't be any luckier."

Jaimie and Peter met while filming 2010 comedy-drama Loosies.

Their romantic relationship developed organically.

"We've been friends forever and had a lot of mutual friends and we reconnected in the middle of the year," Jaimie said.

"It was one of those things where I'd been single for a very long time and he was going through a lot. We sort of bonded."

Peter and his ex Jennie share young daughters Luca, Fiona and Lola together.

Their divorce is not yet final.
