Philip Glenister in new BBC drama

Philip Glenister has a new TV role

Philip Glenister is to star in new television drama From There To Here.

The Life On Mars star said he was "really excited" to be a part of the BBC One show, which tells the story of two families whose lives are brought together in the aftermath of an IRA bomb in Manchester.

He said: "I'm really excited to be involved in such a terrific new drama written by Peter Bowker. Also to be working alongside such an outstanding cast and crew. And of course to be back filming in my adopted home town of Manc!"

Philip will be reunited with his Life On Mars co-star Liz White in the three-part series, which will also star Bernard Hill, Steven Mackintosh, Daniel Rigby and Morven Christie.

Creator Peter Bowker said that the drama is "a love letter to Manchester".

From There To Here, which is being is directed by James Strong, is due to start shooting in Manchester this month.
