Pierce Brosnan desperately fought for tragic daughter

Pierce Brosnan was desperate to make his daughter’s life easier shortly before she passed away.

The former James Bond actor lost 41-year-old Charlotte to ovarian cancer on June 28.

The star tried to make her life as easy as possible while she was suffering from the disease.

"Pierce was willing to pick up the phone and call anyone, go anywhere, take her anywhere, do anything for her at anytime,” friend Lisa Paulsen told People magazine. “He was desperate.”

Lisa is the president of the Entertainment Industry Foundation and a longtime Brosnan family friend.

Charlotte passed away after three years of fighting the illness and just days before she died Pierce spoke about how proud he was to be a parent.

“Parenting is never easy,” he explained to British newspaper The Sun. “You learn the skills of patience and understanding and just being there for your children.”

Charlotte’s mother, who was Pierce’s first wife, was only 43 when she died of the same illness.

Pierce had adopted Cassandra’s child Charlotte and her brother Chris, after they wed.

Charlotte had secretly married her artist partner Alex Smith a few days before her death.

"Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl," Pierce told People shortly after losing his daughter.
