Chris Pine and his model girlfriend Dominique Piek have reportedly ended their relationship after a year of dating.

The 32-year-old Star Trek actor first stepped out with the South African Sports Illustrated model at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Less than a year later the couple has called it quits, a source told E! News.

A spokesperson for the actor has yet to issue comment on the report.

Chris is known for keeping quiet about his love life.

He did open up to the UK edition of Men’s Health last year about his ideal woman.

"I do like dating cynics - they tend to be incredibly funny," he said.

"Dating someone on the opposite end of the happy spectrum teaches you an incredible amount of patience.”

Chris seems to be hyper-focused on his career as of late.

Earlier this week he said he doesn’t take his success for granted and feels fortunate to have won audiences over.

"I've been really lucky and kind of get swept up in the ocean of Hollywood," he told Entertainment Tonight Canada.

He also admitted the fame that comes along with such success can be overwhelming.

But he’s finally coming to terms with his high-profile persona.

"It's a great ride,” he mused. “But you surface and you're like, 'Where the hell am I? What is this all about?’”

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Your dry humour will be very popular. It's always difficult bringing a large group of people together. Everybody feels like they are walking on eggshells. After cracking a few jokes, you'll put the group at ease. Resist the temptation to make fun of relatives, especially the more sensitive members of the group. Nobody likes feeling singled out. Watching a light hearted comedy can also be a great way to generate a festive atmosphere. This is a time when people can put their differences aside.More
