Pink: New sound is fresh

Pink

Pink says working with "fresh blood" on her new album inspired her to be more consistent.

The songstress is currently promoting The Truth About Love, her first full-length record since 2008's double-platinum Funhouse. Pink - who worked with music producer Greg Kurstin on the album - is glad she injected "fresh blood" into the recording process.

"Studio sessions used to be like, 'OK. I'm gonna start my record. Get the whiskey and some cigarettes, and let's do this f**king thing,'" she explained.

"Now, it's Monday through Friday from 1pm to 10pm. Everyone I worked with was either a parent or friend, so it was very, very easy."

Pink and husband Carey Hart welcomed daughter Willow into the world last year. The 33-year-old star says her little girl has totally changed her outlook on life.

"I used to be really dark. Now, I wake up and check her pulse and make sure she's not having a temperature. And then we dance. And we dance, and we dance, and we dance," she gushed to The West Australian.

"Then, we go on bike rides. And we dance some more. Everything's a song. I guess that's how the record reflects where I am right now. I'm just having a lot more fun than I ever have."
