Pitt and Jolie engagement confirmed
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's engagement is "a promise for the future."
The pair - who raise six children together - became engaged this week after being together for seven years.
Brad and Angelina's tykes are reportedly elated for their parents' union.
"Yes, it's confirmed," Brad's manager Cynthia Pett-Dante told USA Today in a statement. "It is a promise for the future, and their kids are very happy. There's no [wedding] date set at this time."
Angelina's father Jon Voight is equally as excited to see his daughter and Brad become man and wife.
"I'm very happy for them," Jon told Us Weekly.
Brad designed Angelina's wedding band with Beverly Hills jeweller Robert Procop.
The actor put a lot of energy into creating the perfect ring for his future wife.
"Brad had a specific vision for this ring, which he realised over a yearlong collaboration," Robert told revealed. "He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so I was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina's hand. Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality."
The ring is estimated to have cost around $250,000.
Brad was married once before to actress Jennifer Aniston, but the pair divorced in in 2005.
Angelina divorced from her two former husbands Johnny Lee Miller in 1999 and Billy Bob Thornton in 2003.
The couple are parents to adopted kids Maddox, ten, Pax, eight, and seven-year-old Zahara as well as biological children Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
