Pixie Lott engaged
The singer and her new fiance have been dating for six years.
British pop star Pixie Lott is engaged.
The Mama Do singer broke the news to fans on Instagram on Sunday (13Nov16), after her boyfriend, model Oliver Cheshire, popped the question during a visit to London's St. Paul's Cathedral.
Pixie, 25, shared a picture of her oval-shaped diamond engagement ring with the famous dome of St. Paul's in the background as the sun began to set over the British capital.
"so happy biggest surprise ever (sic)," she captioned the image, adding a heart emoji to express her love for her man.
Photos of the sweet proposal have since been obtained by The Sun, after Oliver was caught on camera getting down on bended knee on the steps to the historic landmark.
In the snaps, Pixie can be seen wiping away tears after her partner of six years asked her to marry him, and they sealed the deal with a big hug and kiss.
"It was so romantic - Pixie didn't seem to have any idea he was going to ask her to marry him and started sobbing with tears of happiness," an onlooker tells the newspaper.
"When she couldn't stop crying Ollie asked a passer-by for a tissue as he said he didn't want to give her his snotty hankie. They then hid behind a pillar for some privacy, but they didn't seem to have a care in the world about who saw their special moment - it was like something from a movie."
Pixie has been dating Oliver, who has modelled for Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana, since meeting at a fashion show when she was 19.
The couple lives together in London, and although the singer previously admitted their busy schedules often keep them apart, she insisted she could see a future with Oliver.
"Either I'm away or he's away, and those times are hard," she told The Sun in February (16). "But we're used to it because it's been like that since the beginning.
"We have complete trust, and I think if we didn't have that, it would be much more difficult than it is. I'd like to think we were heading that way (towards marriage), definitely."
