Poehler on writing topless
Amy Poehler has explained how she stumbled across the idea of writing while baring her breasts.
The 43-year-old funnywoman received an Emmy nomination for the Parks and Recreation episode she penned, and is also the author of a memoir entitled Yes Please.
Amy revealed she finds it “relaxing” to write without wearing a top, and told The Ellen DeGeneres Show how this revelation came about.
"I think it was probably accidental,” Amy told Ellen. “Like, I was out of the shower and I was like, 'I have to finish this thing' and then I was like, 'This feels really good.'"
She added that finding the motivation to write can be an arduous task. She particularly found this to be the case when she was writing her memoir.
"Then as I was writing the book,” the beauty went on. “As you know, when you're writing a book, you're like, 'Anything to get you inspired to write.'"
When Amy’s not writing, she’s starring as Leslie Knope in the hit NBC series. And the star revealed “dance parties” are the norm for the strong team of comedic actors.
"We have dance parties in our trailer after lunch," Amy explained. "When I say 'we' it's usually me trying to get people to do it. It's just me like, 'Dance party starting, you guys -- five minutes.' And everybody's like, 'We're good.' ... but, yeah, we're going to dance."
NBC will air the seventh and final season of Parks and Recreation next year, beginning on January 13.
Meanwhile, Amy is also preparing to host the Golden Globe Awards this year with friend and colleague Tina Fey.
