Portia 'jealous of Ellen's friendship with Sofía'
Portia de Rossi resents wife Ellen DeGeneres' friendship with Sofía Vergara, according to reports.
The chat show host loves having the Colombian beauty as a guest on TV. But it has been reported that their friendship has developed off-screen, much to the chagrin of Ellen's wife, Portia de Rossi.
"Portia always resented Ellen's friendship with Sofía, and that Sofía is leaning on Ellen for support, she's even more jealous," an insider claims to the American edition of OK! Magazine.
Modern Family star Sofía has reportedly turned to the 56-year-old following her breakup from fiancé Nick Loeb, after speculation arose over his fidelity. As well as appearing regularly on Ellen's show, the 41-year-old bonded with Ellen while co-starring in ads for CoverGirl and the pair have stayed in touch.
"They have amazing chemistry on TV," the source continued. "[But] Portia has always thought Ellen was a little too touchy-feely with Sofía, they've fought about it before, but Ellen convinced Portia she was blowing the situation out of proportion and that the women were just good friends."
Ellen and Portia started dating in 2004 and became engaged in May 2008 after the overturn of the same-sex marriage ban in California. The couple married three months later in August 2008 and despite any tension that might be in place around Sofía, the women are reportedly considering having children.
"Ellen realise[d] that she has maternal instincts. And Portia feels the same way," an insider told the publication last month. "It seems that they feel something may be missing from their marriage - and that's the patter of tiny feet! Ellen said that if George Clooney can shock the world by getting engaged, maybe it isn't such a big deal for them to become parents."
