Natalie Portman has named her baby boy Aleph.
The Oscar-winning star and choreographer fiance Benjamin Millepied have given their son the Hebrew moniker, a source told People.com.
The name - which can also be spelled Alef - is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and means the number one in Hebrew.
Its esoteric meaning in Judaic Kabbalah apparently relates to the origin of the universe, the "primordial one that contains all numbers".
Natalie met Benjamin, a ballet dancer and acclaimed choreographer, in 2009 on the set of Darren Aronofsky's psychological thriller Black Swan, for which she later won a best actress Oscar.
The couple got engaged and announced their pregnancy on December 2010, and the 30-year-old gave birth in June.
