'Posh' violinist wows BGT judges

Britain's Got Talent goes posh tonight when a classical violinist takes a bow on the hit show.

Lettice Rowbotham impresses the judges - and the audience - with her electric violin and judge David Walliams tells her: "I think you might be the poshest contestant we've had on the show."

The 24-year-old from Surrey's audition is just the tip of the iceberg with other impressive turns including a magic act, a singer and a circus performer.

Knife thrower Edward Pinder, 11, from Uppingham, works on his act with his mother but soon changes target when he gets Simon Cowell on stage and gives the show supremo a close shave with a flying blade, leaving the judges open-mouthed and Simon saying:"I kind of felt my life going in front of me then."

Amanda Holden tells him: "You nearly killed Simon Cowell."

Less impressive are a duo - Operadoo - who attempt to combine opera with didgeridoo playing.

The couple, from Kent, fall foul of Simon, who tells them: "There are certain things that don't go well together. It's like sticking a bowl of strawberry ice cream with a sausage."
