Prince William 'searching for perfect present'

Britain's Prince William is reportedly hoping his late mother's jewellery collection will contain the perfect gift for his wife Catherine when she gives birth.

Catherine is reaching the final stages of her pregnancy and the couple's first child is due to arrive next month. William is seemingly planning to present his wife with a special gift after labour and is hoping his late mother Princess Diana will inspire him to choose a fitting 'push present'.

"William has been going through his late mother's jewellery to see if there is something appropriate that he could give Kate as a special keepsake to make the birth of their little one," a source told British magazine Grazia.

William clearly cherishes his mom's belongings and famously proposed to Catherine with Diana's sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

Catherine's parents Carole and Mike Middleton are currently renovating their family home ahead of the baby's arrival and are said to be "over the moon" at the prospect of welcoming their first grandchild into the world.

The future king has been busy helping his in-laws prepare the nursery at their Berkshire home, as Catherine will be staying there once she gives birth.

"William is nervous but excited. He has been going out of his way to make Kate feel as comfortable as possible," a source explained.

The 30-year-old royal will take paternity leave from his job as a search-and-rescue pilot when the baby is born. Once he returns to work Catherine will remain at her family home as their Kensington Palace apartment won't be ready until later this year.

Catherine has a highly-publicised close bond with her family. Her younger sister Pippa is a party planner and is set to throw her pregnant sibling a special baby shower.

"Pippa is really excited about the shower, and so is Kate," added the source. "It will be really intimate at her family home with a handful of female friends and family."

Catherine's brother James owns a cake-making business and is expected to provide baby-themed cupcakes.

Pippa has asked people to bring along baby photos to use in a game where they must identify which picture belongs to each guest.

"Pippa is using all of her party-planning experience to make sure Kate has the best do," said the insider. "She's also got William to help her compile a list of 'Baby Mastermind' questions and answers, to quiz Kate on what she thinks he would do in each baby-related situation. It'll be very laidback but fun."
