Prosecutors 'after Lohan with a vengeance'

Lindsay Lohan

Prosecutors are reportedly doing everything in their power to ensure that Lindsay Lohan goes to jail.

The 26-year-old actress' probation on a jewellery theft case was formally revoked Tuesday after she was arraigned on charges stemming from her June 8 car crash in Santa Monica, California. She was indicted for reckless driving, obstructing or resisting a police officer in the performance of his duty and giving false information to a police officer.

Prosecuting attorneys want Lindsay behind bars.

"Prosecutors are going after Lindsay with a vengeance because of her flagrant disregard for the law," a source told Radar Online.

"The LA City Attorney's office will present evidence to Commissioner Jane Godfrey that Lindsay has a long storied history of lying to cops. Prosecutors want Commissioner Godfrey to sentence Lindsay to 245 days behind bars for the probation violation."

Lindsay was also arrested and charged with assault after apparently hitting Tiffany Eve Mitchell in the face at a New York City nightclub late last month.

The starlet has an arraignment on the charges stemming from the car accident scheduled for January 15 and she must be in attendance.

Lindsay's probation violation hearing will be set after next month's court date.
