Radcliffe returning to Broadway

Daniel Radcliffe is returning to Broadway in The Cripple Of Inishmaan.

The West End hit about a disabled Irish dreamer is heading to the New York stage, with previews beginning on April 12 at the Cort Theatre and the opening scheduled for April 20.

Harry Potter star Daniel won rave reviews when the production, directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Grandage, opened in London last year.

First staged in 1996, the play is a raucously dark take on Irish identity and Daniel stars as Billy, a 17-year-old orphan on a remote island in 1930s Ireland, who sees a chance of escape from a life of boredom and mockery when an American film crew arrives on a neighbouring island to shoot a movie.

Daniel made his West End debut in 2007 and his Broadway debut in 2008 in Equus. He returned to Broadway in 2011 for How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.
