Rande Gerber: Clooney is so stealth
George and Amal Clooney knew their wedding would cause a lot of attention, says Rande Gerber.
The Hollywood star surprised fans when he wed London based lawyer Amal in September, with many believing he was destined to be an eternal bachelor.
Their lavish wedding in Venice caused a media furore, but Rande says they fully expected the fuss.
"George and Amal knew what they were getting into. Such a big event in George’s life is always going to get a lot of attention. You try to not let it affect your life as much as you can control it. But do you go out as much to public events? No, you don’t. You try to stay a little bit low-key until it blows over. But they are dealing with it brilliantly. Obviously George is used to it, so he knows how it rolls. We are stealth. We have some good moves," Rande told ES Magazine.
Rande is married to supermodel Cindy Crawford, and they have children Kaia and Presley together.
As well as being close pals with George, Rande has also gone into the tequila business with him and they have a bottle called Casamigos.
Their business and friendship ties mean Rande was asked to be George's best man.
"Now listen, George had a whole bunch of best men. He has a close group of friends [including Matt Damon] that he’s known all his life. I was just one of them...
"You didn’t have to worry about a thing because they had already thought of it. If you wanted to go to a restaurant, the boat was there waiting. It was a big party for three days straight. We flew 100 cases of tequila in and we drank all of it," he recalled.
