George Clooney will be in London's Leicester Square tonight for the premiere of his new film The Monuments Men.

The Hollywood heartthrob wrote, directed and stars in the Second World War comedy, inspired by the true story of a team of soldiers on a mission to rescue valuable artwork stolen by the Nazis during their invasion of Europe.

George will be joined by co-stars Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban and Hugh Bonneville on the red carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square cinema from 6pm.

The Second World War art heist caper also stars Cate Blanchett.

George is holding a press conference to promote the film at the National Gallery this morning.

The Monuments Men opens in cinemas on Friday February 14 2014.
