Red-faced Kieron Richardson accidentally reveals Hollyoaks spoiler
Kieron Richardson is terrified he may have lost his job on Hollyoaks after appearing to let slip a massive spoiler during an interview on This Morning on Wednesday (29Mar17).
Kieron Richardson fled the This Morning set on Wednesday (29Mar17) after he appeared to let slip that his Hollyoaks character is responsible for the soap's gruesome murder.
The 31-year-old actor plays Ste Hay in the Channel 4 programme, with his character one of the suspects in the grisly killing of Amy Barnes, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children.
Ste's drug use means he occasionally suffers from blackouts, and soap bosses decided to write it in that he conveniently had one in the minutes after Amy's death, leaving him unsure of whether or not he was responsible for the killing.
During an interview with This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, they questioned Kieron about the "whodunnit" and he appeared to accidentally reveal Ste murdered Amy.
"All I'm going to say is that Ashley Slanina-Davies who plays Amy Barnes, it's an absolutely fantastic episode, even in the final scenes when I was...str...with my...no," he said, looking increasingly panicked as he realised what he had said.
He then asked Holly and Phillip if This Morning was "live live" or if the remark could be edited out, adding that he was "going to get into so much trouble".
"Have you got any jobs here? I might need one," he laughed.
As the interview progressed, Kieron struggled to answer the presenters' questions as he commented: "I can't really concentrate right now because I feel like I've lost my job... There's loads of suspects. I hate this job!"
At that point, Kieron decided to excuse himself from the chat, and ran away from the sofa as Holly said to Phil: "I think we broke him!"
Some Twitter users weren't convinced though, with people commenting that the slip was a "double bluff" to throw people off or garner more attention for the soap.
Earlier in the interview, Kieron said that while he will be taking paternity leave from the show when a surrogate gives birth to his twins in the coming months, it wasn't tied in with the murder storyline - as some fans had been speculating that his scheduled absence from the soap means Ste is guilty of murder.
"I think because people know that I'm having babies they're like: 'Well it's not going to be him because he's just having maternity leave. They're gonna say it's you and then you're gonna come back for a bit,'" Kieron said. "But that's not the case, the story has been planned since before we got pregnant. People have their own theories."
