Rhys Meyers worn out by sex scenes
Jonathan Rhys Meyers says getting into bed with naked actresses has become run-of-the-mill for him.
The smouldering Irish star, who models as well as acts, has carved out a successful movie and TV career which often sees him romping with a stunning female lead.
He's most recently starred as the immortal blood sucker Dracula in the TV show of the same name, which has its fair share of raunchy scenes.
"Well listen, you try it a few times. I’m telling you, you do two days of shooting sex scenes on a film set, you’ll be exhausted after it. You’ll get back to your partner, you won’t wanna touch them. You’ll be like, ‘I just wanna have a bath,'" Jonathan laughed to British newspaper Evening Standard.
"Every day was a new naked girl, so it became run-of-the-mill that I would end up in bed with some actress during the afternoon."
When quizzed if he had any lucky underwear, the 36-year-old heartthrob revealed that there was no need for boxers when filming such moments.
"I don’t have any lucky underpants. I’m never wearing underpants when I do those sex scenes. I’m always half naked. Sex scenes, first of all, are very easy to do, because you’re usually given somebody to work with who is very beautiful and attractive, so that makes it much easier," he smiled.
Aside from his saucy antics on screen, Jonathan thinks that the story of Dracula will always be appealing because of people's fascination with eternal youth.
Set in Victorian London, Dracula goes back to the more classic idea of vampires, rather than the Hollywood portrayal of late.
“Everybody’s interested in living forever. People don’t want to die. What makes vampires attractive is that they’re frozen in their young, beautiful state," he reasoned.
"If you could live forever, would you want to do it as an 89-year-old woman, or at the peak of your beauty and health?”
