Rihanna offers Brown 'continued support'

Rihanna

Rihanna will reportedly champion her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown at his upcoming probation hearing.

Chris is on probation for assaulting Rihanna in 2009.

The R&B superstar visited court yesterday and drug test results proved that he had marijuana in his system. Chris can legally smoke weed because he carries a California medical marijuana card.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg has not yet decided whether to find Chris in violation of his probation and has scheduled a hearing on November 1 to discuss the matter further.

"Rihanna has spoken to Chris since his progress reporting hearing on Monday afternoon and offered her continued support," a source told Radar Online.

"Rihanna told Chris she would go to court on November 1 for his court appearance and tell Judge Patricia Schnegg that she shouldn't set a hearing to decide if he violated terms of his probation because he has accepted responsibility for his actions and has apologised to RiRi on multiple occasions.

"Rihanna would also tell the judge that Chris isn't the same person now, as he was on that fateful night when he assaulted her. Rihanna doesn't care if she is criticised for standing by Chris, she genuinely loves him."
