Rita Ora kicks off MTV awards show

Rita Ora arrives for the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany

Rita Ora has kicked off this year's MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) in spectacular style.

The singer, who only released her debut album earlier this year, was lowered to the stage suspended in a cage before launching into a version of R.I.P.

She was followed by US pop band Fun who played their massive hit We Are Young, before Carly Rae Jepson performed Call Me Maybe.

The event in Frankfurt, Germany, was hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum and had a circus theme with trapeze artists and fire dancers on stage.

Next up was Alicia Keys who performed Girl On Fire, before reality star Kim Kardashian presented the Best Song award to Jepson for Call Me Maybe.

Reformed rockers No Doubt then performed their new single, and the cast of Geordie Shore named Justin Bieber the Best Male Act. The Canadian singer recorded a thank you message for his fans, saying: "This is the greatest night ever".

The award for Best Hip Hop act went to Nicki Minaj, while David Guetta won Best Electronic Act.

Then The Killers took to the stage to play Runaways.

The Best Live Act gong went to Swift - her second award of the night.

Korean pop sensation Psy got the biggest reaction of the evening when he played his breakout hit Gangnam Style complete with dozens of lookalike dancers.

Scorpio:

Don't deny yourself pleasure. It's important to indulge your sensual side. When you don't, you become irritable. Take this opportunity to splash out on new clothes. Soak in a scented bath. Get a massage. Enjoy a long nap. Do whatever your heart desires. If anyone dares complain you aren't working hard enough, maintain a stony silence. You're incredibly intimidating, especially when you're quiet. Anyone who has become too reliant on you needs to be more self sufficient.More
