Rob Kardashian criminal charges dropped
Rob Kardashian is no longer facing two criminal misdemeanours for assaulting a female photographer as the judge formally dismissed the charges.
Just over a week ago the reality star reached a civil settlement with Andra Viak.
He was accused of battery after she said he took her camera and stole its memory card. Rob, 26, apparently agreed to pay Ms. Viak the value of the camera equipment.
TMZ reports a judge dismissed the two misdemeanour charges associated with the case on Thursday. Ms. Viak was reportedly disinterested in pursuing the matter further as she was happy with the settlement terms.
The incident happened when Ms. Viak began taking photographs of Rob in the parking garage of a West Hollywood gym back in March.
According to TMZ, Rob became upset, then confiscated and damaged the paparazzo’s camera equipment.
He claims the photographer was hiding in her car in the gym’s garage and waited to take a snap when Rob took his shirt off. Rob has struggled with his weight recently and is believed to be tipping the scales at 240lbs.
He was represented by Robert Shapiro in court, the lawyer partner of his late father Robert Kardashian.
Rob previously dismissed these claims and pleaded “not guilty” to battery and petty theft.
