Robbie and Gary to lose chart race

Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow are set to miss out on the No 1 spot

Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow are set to lose the battle for the top spot in the charts.

Sales figures released on Wednesday suggest their joint release Shame will be beaten to the top of the charts by Cee Lo Green with his single Forget You.

Cee Lo, who has previously been to No 1 as part of Gnarls Barkley, is expected to stay ahead in the race when chart positions are announced on Sunday.

Robbie and Gary teamed up after years of acrimony to record their track. It is taken from a forthcoming greatest hits album for Robbie, In And Out Of Consciousness.

As solo performers and members of Take That, the pair have have notched up 19 No 1 singles between them.

Robbie has rejoined Take That with an album, Progress, due for release next month - their first new recording as a group since he quit the line-up in 1995.

Cee Lo's single originally featured an expletive in the title - and peppered throughout the lyrics - but the four-letter word was substituted with the word "forget" ahead of its single release.
