Robbie Williams stages comeback after food poisoning

Take That have had to cancel a show after Robbie Williams suffered food poisoning

Pop star Robbie Williams will return to the stage tonight following a bout of food poisoning.

Take That were forced to cancel Saturday's show in Copenhagen - the first that the band had ever called-off - after the singer became violently ill.

Today Williams' spokesperson said that he would be on stage with the band this evening in Amsterdam.

In a message on his blog over the weekend, the Angels singer, who fell ill after Friday's show, posted a photograph of himself in bed attached to a drip.

He wrote: "I'm not completely out of the woods yet...but feeling much better...gutted for everyone involved with the tour...feeling dreadful for letting the fans down...I'm so, so sorry ....."

Take That said in a statement: "This is the first show that we have ever had to cancel in our career as a band. It was a horrible decision to make and one we agonised over."

Take That's latest reunion shows begin with a medley of songs performed by Jason Orange, Mark Owen, Gary Barlow and Howard Donald - who reformed without Williams in 2006.

Williams, who has been criticised for his bad language on stage, then sings his own solo hits before the band reel off past and present numbers as a five-piece.
