Robert Pattinson 'genuinely insecure'

Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson wishes he could shirk the spotlight at times.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 actor struggles to cope with his celebrity.

Robert is simply not used to being internationally influential.

"I am still figuring how to ride it because there is a certain element to it where you can become very, very powerful if you embrace it," he told British newspaper The Mirror.

"I meet a bunch of famous people who are nothing like me. They can wield their power.

"I just let it sit over there and I try and live beside it. I think I would find it much easier if I didn't have any kind of public persona whatsoever."

Robert attributes his discomfort in the public eye to his innate awkwardness.

The star finds it odd to be lauded by so many people.

"I guess I'm quite a genuinely insecure person, so it's not very hard for me to keep grounded," he said.

"Even if someone says something you've done is good, you've got to be pretty dumb to let your head get big, especially now when everything about your life is reported. I don't understand actors who have big egos."
