Robert Pattinson was reportedly "icy" during his first phone call with Kristen Stewart following her affair scandal.
The stars were sent into turmoil after it was revealed Kristen had been unfaithful with film director Rupert Sanders. While Robert initially refused to talk to Kristen, he decided to offer her some support following the public backlash.
"They talked for about an hour - it was all very emotional. He was icy at first, but basically he wanted to check she was OK," a source told Look magazine. "Gradually, as the anger died down, Rob even admitted that he misses her.
"She begged to meet face to face so they could talk. It was obvious Kristen was getting through to Rob and he has agreed to see her."
The actor has apparently started to feel the scandal has been even worse for his estranged girlfriend than it was for him. While he was left hurt and embarrassed by her betrayal, Kristen has been publically criticised.
"She's not just dealing with the heartbreak, but being portrayed as a villain, while he gets all the sympathy," a source explained he has realised.
