Robert Sheehan to leave Misfits
Robert Sheehan is leaving Misfits, and will be written out of the programme in a special online episode.
The actor plays cocky Nathan in the E4 supernatural show, which counts Jonathan Ross among its many fans.
Robert has landed roles in films including Killing Bono and Season Of The Witch, and it is thought that he is leaving Misfits to pursue further movie roles.
But he'll reprise the part once more for a one-off episode which will be broadcast online ahead of the third series and will introduce Rudy, the character to replace him.
A show spokesperson said: "In typical Misfits fashion, a trip to Vegas ends in total disaster for motor-mouth Nathan. The exact nature of the super-teen's departure is being kept firmly under wraps, but it may or may not involve some pic 'n' mix, a Fisherman's Friend, and a tripling incident."
Casting for Rudy's role is currently taking place, but it's already been decided that he'll be a new super-charged character who will join Kelly (Lauren Socha), Curtis (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett), Alisha (Antonia Thomas) and Simon (Iwan Rheon) at the young offenders' unit.
The show's creator Howard Overman said: "It's great to be launching the third series of Misfits with an online film which introduces our new character Rudy, as well as saying goodbye to Nathan."
