Russell Brand is dating former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell after the pair met at the closing ceremony of the Olympics, according to reports.
The pair have been spotted together in Hampstead, north London, and at Hampton Court Palace, but a friend of the singer said they were "just friends who have been out a couple of times".
Geri recently admitted she had her eye on a new man but refused to go into details.
She told Hello! Magazine: "Right now there's nothing serious. I was a late starter on the romantic front. I didn't start dating until I was in my 30s.
"I quite like having somebody to cuddle. I like that intimacy, it would be wonderful."
Russell has been linked to several women since his divorce from singer Katy Perry after 14 months of marriage.
The couple met at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2009 and married in a lavish ceremony in India.
But rumours of cracks in their relationship circulated right from the start as their respective careers meant they were rarely in the same country.
Geri, who previously said that the comedian is "really funny and intelligent but not the type of man I go for", ended her three-year romance with aristocratic ex-boyfriend Henry Beckwith last September.
