Rory McIlroy is No.1... on fairway and in the UK game chart
Rory McIlroy is still the top man in golf - both on the fairways and in the gaming world.
The Holywood sportsman retained his World No.1 ranking even though he missed The Open after injuring his ankle during a football match with friends on July 4.
And it was the same story away from the fairways, after the Rory McIlroy PGA Tour video game hit the top spot in the UK gaming charts.
The Electronic Arts game secured a second week at No.1, making the Northern Ireland superstar's hot merchandise the only golf game in the UK to manage back-to-back weeks at the top of the chart.
McIlroy managed to stay at the top of the world golf rankings after US player Jordan Spieth failed to fulfil the bookies' predictions and win The Open - which McIlroy himself had won the previous year but was unable to defend this time.
And it was confirmed yesterday that McIlroy will miss next week's Bridgstone WGC - another tournament in which he was defending champion.
