Rumer Willis in touch with Kutcher

Rumer Willis has spoken about her friendship with Ashton Kutcher and what it was like when he became her stepdad.

The actress is Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter, but found Ashton, who is just 10 years older than her, as her stepdad when her parents split.

Ashton and Demi have now divorced and he has recently had a baby with partner Mila Kunis, but Rumer told Access Hollywood Live that she had remained friends with him.

The 26-year-old said: " Yeah, it's nice. I realised the other day that he was a year younger than me [now] when he and my mom started going out. It would be like me meeting someone who already had three teenage kids and going into that whole situation, it's crazy."

She recalled meeting Ashton with her younger sisters Scout and Tallulah for the first time: "My mom has always made how we feel about situations the most important thing, so I think it was more her going, 'Hey, this is my life and my kids and my priorities, and if you want to come and join our crazy clan...' which I find so amazing and respectful.

"That's one of the things I admire most about my parents, that they set such an incredible example for putting their children first and keeping a family together no matter what."

Asked whether she was still in touch with him, she replied: "Yeah, every once in a while. I reached out to him when he had his baby the other day, which was so awesome. I saw a photo of her, she was very cute."

She said of her dad Bruce: "Now he's shifted into this very goofy, fun demeanour, but now he has two little babies, too, which is crazy to me."
