Russell Brand has reportedly applied for a licence to officiate marriages in America.
The 37-year-old British actor is said to be interested in uniting couples on their wedding day. According to British newspaper The Sun, Russell spotted a website offering the necessary qualification and is seriously considering adding the unconventional string to his bow.
"Russell is genuinely interested in the idea of marrying a couple," a source told the publication.
"Now he's getting matey with Tom Cruise, his pals have been joking that he could do the honours at the star's fourth wedding."
Tom has split from third wife Katie Holmes after five years of marriage. The actor was said to be blindsided when the actress filed for divorce last month - but the pair have come to a quick settlement.
Russell's divorce from Katy Perry was recently finalised after they parted ways late last year. He is currently dating Isabella Brewster - younger sister of actress Jordana Brewster.
