Russell Brand working on new sitcom

Russell Brand is apparently working on a new TV show.

The British comedian's US television programme Brand X has come to an end after two series on FX, but it seems the star's partnership with the American channel will continue.

E! Online reported that he is attached as executive producer of a new "scripted, live-action" comedy pilot.

It will be in the style of Curb Your Enthusiasm and partly based on Russell's own life.

Brand X, which combined interviews and Russell's stand-up, started airing in 2012 and concluded in May this year.

This week network CEO John Landgraf announced that it would not be returning for a third series.
