Ruth Jones has told how the phone went dead when she told her co-star they'd be kissing in her new comedy drama.
The actress cast Kenny Doughty as Sean, the object of her affections, in Stella.
"I phoned Kenny. Everything was fine and I was explaining the story of Stella, how they would meet and then said: 'I think Stella and Sean will finally kiss...' and the line just went dead," she said.
"I was literally like, 'Oh my God'. I rang him back and said, 'I hope the prospect of kissing me hasn't put you off the job'!"
Ruth, who co-created and starred in the award-winning comedy Gavin And Stacey with James Corden, has written the 10-part Sky1 series and admitted feeling the pressure when it came to coming up with new material.
"I just have to take it on the chin if people say, 'It's not the same'. It isn't going to be. I mean, it's Welsh - and part of Gavin And Stacey was set in Wales - but that's pretty much the only similarity.
"I am expecting people to compare it. But what do you do? Do you go, 'I've done something successful so I'm not going to try anything else?' You can't," she said.
