Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher donate $1 million to charities
Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife Isla Fisher were extremely charitable over Christmas break.
Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife Isla Fisher have donated more than $1 million (£670,000) to two separate charities, including a U.K. organisation aiding children in Syria.
The couple, who wed in 2005, reportedly donated $500,000 (£333,000) to The Sunday Times Christmas appeal, which aims to protect 250,000 children against measles in war-torn Syria.
Their donation will pay for the vaccinations, which will be administered by Save the Children officials, British newspaper the Sunday Mirror reports.
Justin Forsyth, Save the Children's chief executive, thanked the couple for their generosity, and added, "By allowing us to make their generous donation to Syrian children public, Sacha and Isla are helping to highlight the tragedy of the issue today."
They also donated $500,000 to the New York-based International Rescue Committee, which is run by former U.K. politician David Miliband.
Meanwhile, the British comedian is currently gearing up for the release of his next film, The Brothers Grimsby, in which he stars alongside Mark Strong and Penelope Cruz.
