Saldana: I knew husband was the one

Zoe Saldana has said she knew her husband Marco Perego was "The One" from the moment they met.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy star married the Italian artist in June last year in a secret low-key ceremony in London.

Zoe, 36, told Marie Claire magazine: "I don't do the ABCs. I do what my heart says, what my heart feels. So from the moment I met my husband, we were together. We knew."

The Avatar actress previously dated Bradley Cooper for around two years. And before that she was engaged to Keith Britton, CEO of My Fashion Database, before they decided to call it off in November 2011 after 11 years together.

Zoe told the magazine she doesn't feel the need to stay friends with her exes.

She said: "I have been in relationships where a man has disrespected me, and I don't need to be friends with that man any more. I don't want to be the one going, 'I'm cool, because I'm friends with all my exes.' There's a reason why you're called an ex. I crossed you off my list. Moving on. You cross a line, you need to know that you're going to walk this earth knowing that there's an individual who has no respect for you."

And Zoe revealed the most important lesson was not to stay with someone if you're not happy.

Asked what she has learned from relationships, Zoe said: "Not to settle. If you're not happy with a person, leave. And wait until you find that one person who makes you feel good about yourself every single day and is not expecting you to change, but to grow."
